Imagine attending a symphony – but the instruments that are out of tune, backed up with spittle, or have broken strings. What would happen? The music would be discordant, timing goes out the window, and the tune becomes unrecognizable. Would any serious musician let their instruments get to such a state? Of course not.

Imagine your car with underinflated tires that are imbalanced – more fuel is burned, the engine gets worn down faster. The oil needs to be changed or the whole engine could freeze up. Fluids need to be drained and topped off fresh. If you don’t do this, your car, at best, becomes a hole into which you pour money – something simple maintenance could have prevented. Eventually it could become a not-so-charming sculpture taking up space in your driveway.

So what do we with our bodies? In my case I stuffed it full of medication for my asthma, birth control pills, and steroids a doctor told me I needed to control the asthma. I listened to my doctor because here in the West, we are taught to trust them, despite the sad fact they only get paid if we are ill, not if they keep us healthy. This is the complete opposite of the East where physicians don’t get paid if you are unhealthy.

As a result, I became terribly overweight. My hip joints (already weak from hereditary dysplasia) were eaten away by the steroids I took for years instead of months as it was supposed to be. According to him I was overweight because I was female and over thirty. I fired that imbecile doctor.

I had both my hips replaced. My next mission: lose weight and build muscles that had atrophied from an imbalanced skeletal system.

I walked. I exercised. I watched what I ate. The weight didn’t come off.

On top of that, I was tired all the time due to anemia. I was a mess.

My wonderful body, this exquisite bio-mechanical machine, was hurting. It felt like a car that needed a complete overhaul, not just an oil change. Well, lucky for me, my body isn’t a car, as it has the remarkable ability to heal itself when given what it needs to do so.

The first thing it needed was a cleanse from all the medications and steroids, the toxins in our air, our water and our food. PURE’s Healthtrim Cleanse (available as liquid or capsules) was just what I needed. I’d used other solutions before, but I could only do those on a weekend – sticking close to the bathroom at home. Going out was not an option because they only target the colon, our second largest waste elimination pathway.

That’s adequate, but we have six other ways our body eliminates toxins. The largest is our skin, followed by our colon, then lungs, liver, kidneys, bladder, and our lymphatic system. PURE’s Cleanse contains a combination of ingredients, used medicinally for centuries, that targets all of these systems of elimination, using natural ingredients like cascara sagrada, uva usri, milk thistle, and burdock.

When I took it, for my first PURE cleanse, I took the capsules. Two capsules the first day, then four, then six, then eight as recommended. I took them before bed, just to be on the safe side, but I needn’t have worried. It never gave me cramps or discomfort like other detox programs I’ve used. You won’t need to do this over the weekend, no worries about running for a bathroom.

But… can we talk poop, for a moment? Because the bowel movement after my cleanse was darker and smellier, like a bowel movement after being sick. You know what I’m talking about, we’ve all been there. And that’s how I knew it was working. And then the poop turned lighter, without the harsh stench. That’s what doctors will tell you is a sign of health.

Taken in liquid or capsule every few months it is the maintenance “oil change” your body needs to clean out toxins that we are exposed to everyday and those we may not realize have been lingering in our systems for years. It’s so gentle that you won’t be staying home to stay close to the bathroom. It’s wonderfully effective. It should be a part of a cleansing every three months at least, but it’s so gentle it can be used daily (before bed).

“Okay, so we cleansed,” you say, “Now what?” Join me in my next blog post for stage two of this journey, building the body after cleansing the body.
